Annette Funicello (born Annette Funicello) was an American musician, actress and performer. Her most well-known role was as "one of the first Mouseketeers" as part of The Mickey Mouse Club. She began singing as a teenager and was known for the hit song "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." Annette, who was brought up by Italian immigrants in Utica in her early years and is an extremely introverted person. Since she wanted to pursue a successful career in entertainment her first step was acting as well as dancing. The mid-1950s saw her gain a significant amount of recognition through her performances on "Disney" comedy sketches. Annette was able to let go of the "Disney" persona she cultivated when she was a kid and took various adult roles. She is best remembered as one of the first actors to introduce the concept of "beach events". The actress was featured in movies such as How to Stuff a Wild Bikini, Pajama Party, and 'Beach Party.It was Annette was recording songs from time to time. Annette died in 2013 after being diagnosed in 1992 with multiple sclerosis.
